Answers to the most frequently asked questions about our LYMA laser.

General Questions

What is the lifespan of the LYMA laser?

The LYMA Laser is manufactured in the UK from clinical grade components - tested to last 10 years and backed by a two-year global full replacement warranty.

Why is the LYMA laser so different?

This is the first time that a laser of such transformative power can be used safely outside of a clinic, treating more skin conditions than any other device used home. The LYMA laser is able to safely reach mitochondria in the deepest layers of skin, fat and muscle tissue to increase cell turnover and encourage cell growth and repair. To contextualize, this technology is up to 100 times more powerful than LEDs.

Does the laser have a warranty?

Yes, the LYMA Laser is backed by a two-year warranty and is made from clinical grade components, with an expected lifespan of ten years.

What is the difference between LYMA Laser and in-clinic laser treatments?

The LYMA Laser is an at-home device that has been designed to work without damaging cells, while still maintaining the power and effects you can expect from in-clinic treatment.

What is the difference between LED devices and the LYMA laser?

The main difference between LED devices and coherent light from LYMA laser is that laser light penetrates deeper and does not lose energy with penetration like non-coherent light. This means that it is capable of having different physiological effects at deeper penetration, so you are still able to induce physiological effects throughout the dermis because the laser does not lose effectiveness as the laser penetrates deeper. that it penetrates the layers.

Efficiency and operation

What color is the laser?

Our laser is red.

Will the LYMA Laser help my treatment penetrate deeper?

Yes, the LYMA laser will help your skincare penetrate deeper in two ways. As the laser does not damage the skin, it is not in recovery mode and will therefore respond much better to other treatment protocols. Additionally, the increase in collagen and the anti-inflammatory effects of the laser will help your skin benefit from the active ingredients in your treatment.

Does the LYMA laser cause facial fat loss?

The LYMA laser does not cause fat loss on the face. The deep penetrating cold laser light reaches the base layer of the skin and stimulates collagen production, making the skin look healthier.

How does the LYMA laser reshape the skin?

The LYMA Laser has designed the power of a 500mW near-infrared coherent light cold laser for home use. The laser makes photobiomodulation possible at home, that is, the process of inducing tissue regeneration through the application of light energy. In addition to being polarized, laser light, when interacting with living tissues, presents a phenomenon called speckle, which amplifies the intensity of the stimulus, making it effective in inducing regeneration processes throughout the depth of its penetration. This is not the case with LED-based light sources which lose their effectiveness as they penetrate the tissues.

The power of the LYMA laser reshapes the skin from the basal layer to the dermis, smoothing wrinkles and imperfections and providing a healthy glow.

Does LYMA Laser work? Is there any evidence of its effectiveness?

Hundreds, if not thousands, of medical articles have been written since the 1960s on the effects of LYMA Laser technology - low intensity laser photobiomodulation. The science is well established, but until now there has been no effective device to achieve these results in the home environment. For conditions such as dyschromias, wound healing, and body contouring, almost all plausible peer-reviewed evidence uses LYMA technology as a light source. The problem is that laser light is not easily accessible at home. So far.

How soon should I expect to see beneficial effects?

Generally, we recommend using the LYMA laser daily for approximately 15 minutes on each treatment area for three months to achieve optimal results, then twice a week to maintain those results. Using LYMA Laser on older scars and more mature skin may require longer daily sessions and use of the laser over a longer period of time.

We are at your disposal if you have any questions.

Safety and risks

Is the LYMA laser safe? is it painful?

The LYMA laser is completely safe, its patented lens technology diffuses laser light into thousands of tiny cold energy sources. Each of them is optimized to regenerate your skin at the cellular level, deep within the dermis, without the risk of pain, burning or redness.

Is laser radiation dangerous?

You will find information on the instructions for use on the “How to Use” pages of our website and in the introductions to your LYMA Laser Starter Kit.

Why should I use the LYMA Laser every day?

We recommend using the LYMA Laser daily for a minimum of 12 weeks and a couple of times a week thereafter to maintain results. The reason you need to use daily until you achieve your desired results, is that the LYMA Laser technology works by switching on cells that had died as part of the natural ageing process, which empowers the skin to behave as it did when you were younger. In order to fully transform the skin, you need to ‘switch on’ the maximum number of cells, which in turn exponentially increases collagen production. Skin is renewed from the base layer up to smooth wrinkles, increase elasticity, redistribute pigmentation, and heal scar tissue.

Can the LYMA laser be overused?

The LYMA laser is the revolutionary beauty product of the decade. It is the first cosmetic laser to take a damage-free approach to skin renewal. As the skin is not damaged, there is no risk of overuse.
We recommend using the laser for at least 15 minutes per day for each treatment area (e.g. face, neck, décolleté, knees). Although the LYMA laser cannot be overused in terms of damage to the skin, daily use of more than 1 hour per treatment area will not provide any additional benefit.

Can I replace LYMA Oxygen Mist with spring water?

No. LYMA Oxygen Mist has a different chemical structure than H20. The mist contains oxygen to penetrate the skin and allow the power of the LYMA laser to reach the deepest layers of the dermis. Oxygen cannot penetrate the skin when presented as spring water (H20), which is why we formulated LYMA Oxygen Mist with 100% Stabilized Active Oxygen (ASO) .

Presented in liquid form, oxygen can easily penetrate the skin. We recommend using the mist before using the LYMA Laser and as part of your regular skincare regime.

How does LYMA Oxygen Mist work?

LYMA Oxygen Mist is uniquely formulated with 100% stabilized active oxygen (ASO). Oxygen is the most important and effective antioxidant found in nature. When skin cells receive enough oxygen, they revitalize more effectively, replace dead cells more quickly, and improve skin elasticity.

The oxygen mist's key ingredient, ASO, is delivered in liquid form, allowing for a targeted delivery system that floods the skin with this essential antioxidant, accelerating cellular protection, blood flow and Water retention.

Use active mist before using the LYMA laser.

How to use laser to reduce the appearance of cellulite?

Hypertrophied fat cells (fat cells enlarged by fat storage) release stored fat when stimulated by the laser. However, there is no evidence that the laser damages healthy fat cells or causes a decrease in fat cells that are not enlarged by fat storage. This means that the laser effectively sculpts fat storage sites such as the thighs and around the abdomen, but has no effect on healthy fat cells in the face.

The protocol below should be followed daily for three months. Then you need to follow it twice a week to maintain the results. Don't forget to take a photo of the area you are treating so you can compare the results as you progress.
